About one month ago, I received a message in my inbox inquiring if I had any chairs. I chuckled to myself and thought…chairs? I have dozens. Local gals Joan and Sashya are in the process of opening a new boutique in our community. Their business , Just uS creatively represents them perfectly. Check them out on Facebook. I was thrilled to do some custom work for them, by adding some vintage upcycled flair to their boutique. This week’s upcycle showcases one of the six chairs that will find their new home at Just uS. Also included are a few sneak peeks of the chairs I am still working on.

This one has me stumped. How in the world was I going to fix the gaping tear on the mesh backing?
My handy man quickly responded, before I could say no. With a few quick snips, Ethan had the dilapidated backing removed.
Well, sort of. Mom took over with some elbow grease and the new sander to remove the extra riffraff.
Fast forward through the two light coats of paint, edge sanding, and stain overlay and the chair took on a whole new look. The polka dot gray fabric was the perfect pairing with the bold chair.
A product that I knew existed, but just had never tried is Upholstery Dust Cover Fabric. This handy little add-on really finishes off a project, neat as a pin.
Although the custom order for Just uS isn’t quite complete, I couldn’t help but share a sneak peek.
Do you think this worn out chair has hope?
You be the judge.
Based on the fun personalities of the owner’s, their style, and great taste in fabric, Just uS is going to be a great addition to Morris. Best of luck, Joan & Sashya on your fun new adventure.
