Over the past few weeks, I have really thought about the direction I want the Junk By Jenny blog to go. I have read about blogs, casually visited with others about blogs, and analyzed the way other bloggers construct their posts. I have been studying the importance photography plays. I even had a dinner date with a local blogger. As I waded through the heaps of knowledge I’ve gained over the past few weeks, two themes seemed to emerge:
What is your vision? With Junk By Jenny, I simply want to inspire others. This inspiration could be a customer bringing a custom upcycled piece into their own homes from one of my sales or gaining the confidence to try the upcycle themselves. I am passionate about revitalizing new life into the forgottens, shabby, or weathered. Sharing that passion with others is truly inspiring. With all of this inspiration talk, I had to take a step back and ask myself, “Jenny, what inspires you and where do you go to find it?” Very quickly, that led to me to the second theme.
Pinterest! Pinterest! Pinterest! This powerful, addicting, and simply lovely social media platform has been my go-to for nearly every thing in my life over the past few years. I will often turn to Pinterest before (dare I say it…) Google. (There, I said it). Need an idea for Valentine’s Day boxes? Pinterest. I need to freshen up my hairstyle. Pinterest. How in the heck do I wear this blanket scarf? Pinterest. Let’s pretend I cook supper. Pinterest. What in the world can I create with the 30+ window panes I have in storage? Pinterest. What should my booth look like at Junk Bonanza? Pinterest. What is trending in resume writing? Pinterest. …And these were my Pinterest searches from just within the last week.
So, I took the plunge. I am pleased to share there is Junk By Jenny page on Pinterest. Pinners can be inspired, with the projects that inspire me. You’ll even begin to see Junk By Jenny pins. These pins, like others will direct pinners to my blog to learn more. I invite you to share in the fun. Thanks for your patience as I build the Junk By Jenny boards.
Whether it is a life-changing pin or simply one you add to your boards for a rainy day, allow Junk By Jenny and Pinterest to serve as continued inspiration to you. Happy Pinning.
